8/5/10 – 7/25/11 Weekly meetings of Dept. Supervisor’s to review production events, address staffing concerns, and establish long range goals.
8/10/10 – 7/27/11 Monthly general staff meetings served as a vehicle for continuing
education and training regarding compliance with FCC regulations
station policies, Federal and State safety procedures.
8/2 – 8/26/10 Partnered with Summer Youth Jobs Program/Workforce Connection mentored a young adult in a full time work experience.
Trained him as a master control operator and camera operator. He also learned the proper techniques of maintaining a station on the air during broadcast hours according to FCC regulations.
10/8 – 10/10/10 Participated in the 21st Annual Diocesan Congress & Youth Day
sponsored by Roman Catholic Diocese Office of Ministries and
attended by 3500 valley residents representing 8 counties.
Attendees ages ranged from 15 – 80. Station personnel,
Colin Dougherty, Richard Kidder, RosaMaria Henry,
Daniel Lopez, Nick Cadena, Blake Wong, Joe Silva, Juan Gomez, Gonzalo Suarez, Greg Knudsen, Kue Lee and Ruslan Gurzhiy provided materials and information to increase public awareness and employment opportunities in the broadcast industry.
2/14/11 Members of local church youth groups toured station facilities.
Station staff, RosaMaria Henry, and Dan Lopez provided informational presentation and held a question and answer session in order to inform the group of employment and career opportunities available in the broadcast industry.
2/25 -2/26/11 Production Staff participated in Junior High School Conference
attended by over 300 youth ages 12 – 13.
Station staff, Blake Wong, Nick Cadena, Ruslan Gurzhiy, and Joe Silva responded to questions from attendees regarding the broadcast industry in general and KNXT-TV’s operations in particular.
1/5/11 Production Workshop to specifically review camera work, refine camera techniques, and proper maintenance of production equipment.
Redefine Director’s role in productions.
7/11 – 7/31/11 Intern shadowed each supervisor and staff members
with the purpose of learning all aspects of operating a non-commercial, religious full power broadcast station. This included staffing, production both in house and on location, master control operations, program acquisition, website maintenance, transmitter maintenance, clerical responsibilities and FCC compliance guidelines.
