Fresno Catholic Singles (on-going)
An organization open to unmarried Catholics 40 years or older who are parishoners of any church in the Fresno Catholic Diocese. Our mission is spiritual growth, community service, and socializing through a wide-range of activities. All Catholic singles are welcome. FCS monthly meetings offer fellowship and an opportunity to suggest and learn about special activities, so be sure to attend - and bring a friend so that you can both be a part of an active and spiritually nurturing organization. FCS events have a host who can be identified by his/her fish name tag.

*All monthly meetings are "pot luck," bring a dish to share or donations are accepted.
Annual membership in Fresno Catholic Singles (FCS) is $15, and a paid membership guarantees that you will have our current events calendar mailed to you. In addition, you will have an opportunity to interact with other Catholic singles throughout the Valley. Holy Rosary Orphan Society Rummage Sale (March 13, 2010)
The Holy Rosary Orphan Society is a nonprofit organization that raises funds for an orphanage and for the street children in the impverished country of Bangladesh. In conjunction with the Sisters of the Holy Cross, our organization sends the proceeds from our rummage sale to their headquarters who then send it to Bangladesh. Our organization is very small, under 20 members, and has been conducting this rummage sale fundraiser since the early 1960's.

Coping with Life ALONE - Beginning Experience Support Group (March 18, 2010 & on-going)
Help is available for those who have lost a spouse through death, separation or divorce, and find themselves needing help to deal with the loss. A weekly session, sponsored by the Beginning Experience Ministry, will be held at the St Paul Newman Center in Fresno. The Newman Center is located west of the UCSF campus at 1572 E. Barstow. Sessions will begin March 18th, in the cardinal Newman Hall at 6:30 pm. For further information call Carole (559) 786-6407 or John (559) 436-3439.

The festival will be the largest convergence of peace actvists in the Central Valley, marking seven years of U.S. war on Iraq. The event will include speakers, music, information, food, and hadncrafted goods. Featured speakers include Kathy Kelly, Nobel Peace Prize nominee, who has visited Iraq 24 times in the past decade and Rick Reyes, an Iraq and Afghanistan veteran and leader of Iraq Veterans Against War. Musicians Blake Jones and the Trike Shop, Ibice, the Sanger Academy Charter School Guitar Ensemble, and the Raging Grannies will perform. The League of Mexican American Women Scholarship (Deadline April 9, 2010)
The League of Mexican American Women is accepting scholarship applications for teh 2010-2011 academic year. Scholarships are available to eligible college freshman, continuing college students and re-entry college students who are working towards an Associate of Arts or Science Degree or Bachelors of Arts or Science Degree. Applicants must be of Mexican/Mexican-American heritage, a resident of Fresno County, have a minimum GPA of 2.8 and plan to enroll as a full-time student in an institution of higher learning or vocational training school.
